No, not necessarily...

To get a clear idea of correct Ranger helmet markings, one needs to study the few pictures that show them, along with some surviving examples which BTW are far less in number than one would think...

I agree totally with Johan!

Cheers,

Very nice looking helmet.

I have used saddle wax on many helmets…. that seals the rust from continuing and when it dries you cannot see it.

Either way you have preserved it from getting worse and thats a good thing.

To PIPO: Amazing helmet!

To all: I do not use any chemicals or preservatives on my helmets. If you keep them in a climate controlled room rust should not progress further. You can add a dehumidifier to your man cave to keep humidity at 50% if necessary. You can also get a gauge to monitor the humidity.

It also depends on how many helmets and/or other items you have…. a few helmets and thats fine.

But if you have a lot - then you need a more permanent solution.

Hi

I still had a huge d'day collection 2 years ago; more than 30 d'day helmet, some id'd, around 80 grouping form d'day vet, especially first wave

I've sold 99% because i need fund for a professionnal creation

It was not hard for me because i did not not a lot of thing at that time and i was fed u with collection

I've just kept the helmet and a 2nd rangers grouping ( i still own it ) for a member of A Co ( PH D'day, BS 60/07/1944 )

I now collect some things around D'day and others but i'm very busy with my new job

So it is now a pleasure for me
