uplandmod Posted January 14, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2013 Here is a photo of My Dad's Drill Instructor from 1965, from his Platoon book. This picture always fascinated me as a kid when I used to look through the book, My dad said he was a Mean Marine but taught him what he needed to know to get through combat. I wonder what happened to Sgt. K.R. Amos?

Brig Posted January 15, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 15, 2013 Bet you a beer it's Kenneth R Amos... there's 2 on the ancestry logs...1 strictly WWII service, the other enlisted in 57...the rolls end in 58... 8 years later 1965...Sgt would be about the right rank and timeframe for a DI tour BTW, he started with 7th Marines
