siege1863 Posted January 14, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 14, 2013 Just picked up this great "short snorter" signed by "Flying Tigers" ace Edward F. Rector. Also signing are a couple other noteworthy 14th AF airmen. Research suggests the note dates between 1947 and 1953 and is connected with Rector's time as commander of the air section of the Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG) in Taipei, Formosa. A posting of a veteran of the group in Taipei includes a photograph showing Rector and Kleinoeder. The proposed date of the note is derived from the fact the men signed as being in the "USAF" and Rector's turnover of command in November 1953. Do any forum members have more information on Rector's group? Anything in the way of a list of officers or a roster? The signers are: E.F. Rector (Col.)--Edward F. Rector Dutch Kleinoeder (Col.)--Leonard P. Kleinoeder P.C. Loofbourrow (Col.)--Philip C. Loofbourrow L.C. Kissick (Maj.)--Luther C. Kissick Marion R. Graham (Lt. Col.)--Marion R. Graham Henry F. Slaughter (M/Sgt)--Henry F. Stallings George R. Birkholz (T/Sgt)--George R. Birkholz William M. Stallings (?)--William M. Stallings John W. Dab???
