Bob Hudson Posted January 12, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 12, 2013 These were pleasant finds when I answered a call from my newspaper ad. The SN MEYER I can figure out, but the other has no hallmarks I can see.
Bob Hudson Posted January 12, 2013 Author Share #2 Posted January 12, 2013 I haven't yet tried to match this to some of the pieces in our EGA reference area, but it sure has a nice look to it.
Brig Posted January 12, 2013 Share #3 Posted January 12, 2013 It's a WWI theater made emblem...made in France. Quite a beauty, and quite scarce! The Meyers was repaired/converted at some point...but also a beauty!

teufelhunde.ret Posted January 12, 2013 Share #5 Posted January 12, 2013 Thanks Tim. What was the mod? Good finds! Getting a SN Meyer emblem (very scarce hallmark) and a French emblem in the same pick is something! The "mod" was the removal of the screw-post of the dress emblem and replacing with a period pinback. Done for one of two reasons; the original screw-post had been cross-threaded by the roller and no longer functional, or, it was removed to make it into a "sweetheart" pin. Either way, both are highly sought, any EGA collection w/o a French example is simply incomplete.
