EGA find: SN MEYER 1912 & unknown pinback

These were pleasant finds when I answered a call from my newspaper ad. The SN MEYER I can figure out, but the other has no hallmarks I can see.

I haven't yet tried to match this to some of the pieces in our EGA reference area, but it sure has a nice look to it.

It's a WWI theater made emblem...made in France. Quite a beauty, and quite scarce!

 

The Meyers was repaired/converted at some point...but also a beauty!

Good finds! Getting a SN Meyer emblem (very scarce hallmark) and a French emblem in the same pick is something! The "mod" was the removal of the screw-post of the dress emblem and replacing with a period pinback. Done for one of two reasons; the original screw-post had been cross-threaded by the roller and no longer functional, or, it was removed to make it into a "sweetheart" pin. Either way, both are highly sought, any EGA collection w/o a French example is simply incomplete.
