Just jaw dropping! Thanks for putting up these photos. That log book is great, very interesting reading for sure. That gun camera footage roll is unique too. This one has me super jealous haha!!!

I'm happy to note that I just recently reunited his A-2 to this grouping. The arms are not in the best shape but it belongs with all the rest of his items and the painting along with my photos of him wearing it make it pretty darn cool!

Makes you wonder how this and other A2s manage to get so beat up! I presume it's because they were worn...possibly as work-wear...for years after the war?

Great work on the A2 JD.

I sure hope as time went by the seller became more reasonable.

As far as the damage is concerned it looks better now than ever.

Thanks guys. I was pretty happy to add it.

M,

I got it for not much more than he paid for it. He admitted that it belonged with the rest of his items and decided to give it up. I am glad he did and he was kind enough to give it up for a good price.

OH MY GOD!! Wow....that is so cool you got the A-2 back with it. Congrats on that. I love this grouping, think it's my favorite that I've seen on here. A true classic P-51 fighter pilot's grouping that has got it all. Glad you got back together, and thanks for sharing. This is truly a 'I'd give an arm and a leg and maybe another leg' for!!

Thanks again guys.

Walt,

Thanks for your compliments. It's one of my favorite groups as well. There's just tons of items to enjoy. The A-2 is a little rough, but it was his and saw plenty of action. Watching his gun camera footage is pretty neat as well!

Thanks again. JD

Hi - I'm new to this forum and was led here by this great grouping. Would JDK be able to PM me or someone put me in touch with them? I'm a student of the 353rd and want to ask a couple of specific questions about Pletz.

Many thanks for any help
