nguoi tien su Posted January 7, 2013 Share #1 Posted January 7, 2013 Hello, Here is my Sunday Punchers helmet. My guess is that the helmet was worn on the Kitty Hawk, during the 67/68 cruise. Unfortunately one white disk on the side has been broken and I don't find replacement.

northcoastaero Posted January 8, 2013 Share #6 Posted January 8, 2013 The helmet appears to be a Gentex APH-6C or an earlier variant modified to APH-6C standards. The APH-6C has a dual visor assy. and plastic earcups and the APH-6B has a dual visor assy. and foam/leather earcups. The boom microphone looks to be the M-95A/UR. nguoi tien su Posted January 9, 2013 Author Share #7 Posted January 9, 2013 I am also thinking of a modified version. This is a close up of a VA-75 crew member's helmet. This particuliar helmet belonged to one of the 4 crewman who were KIA during the 67/68 cruise. The original photo appears into the NVA archives and on the only university of Texas virtual database. The dual visor system has been ripped off and the metal clip for the microphone is visible on top.
