Mitch Posted January 1, 2013 #1 Posted January 1, 2013 I have this uniform removed insignia group. The name tape ,rank and Navy tape are period Viet hand sewn patches. The seal trident is machine sewn. It's construction is different than I have seen. So I'm looking for thoughts on where it was made. Any help appreciated. Thanks, Mitch
Mitch Posted January 1, 2013 Author #3 Posted January 1, 2013 It is almost like a nametape folded and sewn on . I imagine it would appear a little padded when sewn on. Thanks again, Mitch
J_Andrews Posted January 1, 2013 #5 Posted January 1, 2013 Was the badge even in existence in 1973? When did it begin?
Mitch Posted January 1, 2013 Author #6 Posted January 1, 2013 Trident is current made, not Vietnam era. Thanks Spike. Any chance this was all on a post Vietnam uniform or do you think it was put together? Regards, Mitch
Mitch Posted January 1, 2013 Author #7 Posted January 1, 2013 Was the badge even in existence in 1973? When did it begin? JA, I believe it started in 1970 Mitch
gwb123 Posted January 1, 2013 #8 Posted January 1, 2013 I think this may have been made in Korea. I've seen this type of construction on other patches made there. It may wall have been made by hand guided sewing machine.
oldfireguy Posted January 1, 2013 #9 Posted January 1, 2013 Trident is current made, not Vietnam era. I agree. Looks like the ones that were worn on BDU's and are still currently made.
