Speidy Posted December 31, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 31, 2012 I've had these binoculars for almost a year now and well, I still do not know a thing about em. I was wondering if someone could help. There's no markings on the glasses them self, however someone marked on them. Front left is marked J.M. Hitching Front right is marked: j.m. Hitching Senior high school Davenport, Iowa Carrier: Ranger J.M. Hitchings Tower Falls STa

doyler Posted January 1, 2013 Share #4 Posted January 1, 2013 They are real similiar ( to me) to the WW1 era Signal Corps binoculars but different. The WW1 era had a compass in the lid of the case.Is there any makings on the lid of the case??I had a set of 6x30s once and the name of the manufacturer was lightly embossed on the lid(Universal). You may have to put them out on a vinyage optics forum.I would think if the body is an alloy or light like aluminum they would be 40s or later??Hard to say. ustpatcher1a Posted July 1, 2015 Share #6 Posted July 1, 2015 Seems to be brass by corrosion color, green. Could be a Naval bino.

ustpatcher1a Posted July 2, 2015 Share #8 Posted July 2, 2015 Judging by the low magnification on this item, sounds highly possible.
