Philip Posted December 21, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 21, 2012 Same design as GenI parkas but made of a gray nylon fabric which is much softer than standard ECWCS parkas, not Gore-Tex. Stock number is for a woodland L-R parka.
hawkdriver Posted December 21, 2012 Share #2 Posted December 21, 2012 I believe that these were used as OPFOR
Philip Posted December 21, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted December 21, 2012 Thanks for your response! I guess these were made in small quantities only?
hawkdriver Posted December 21, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 21, 2012 Correct. Although, for some time, they weren't overly hard to come by. I believe that many law enforcement agencies picked these up as their coat for wear, so it is possible that they had a contract run for that purpose. I almost bought one several years ago to wear as a civilian coat but couldn't bring myself to pay the $125 at the time.
Philip Posted December 21, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted December 21, 2012 Mine was $
hawkdriver Posted December 21, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 21, 2012 Then you done well. Here is an unofficial link to an OPFOR parka. Leads me to believe yours is not. http://recollect-blog.blogspot.com/2010/11/ecwcs-gore-tex-parkaopfor.html I'm betting that yours is a civilian market item using a Woodland tag. Guessing now. Philip Posted December 21, 2012 Author Share #7 Posted December 21, 2012 Thanks for the link! Hm... maybe you're right. But seeing error taged items not for the first time I don't think you can tell just by the NSN. For example the T-pattern flak jacket covers are all marked as "desert". Mine also has that experimental contract number. Commercial or not I like it either way. Thanks again for your opinion!
