Fort Susquehanna Posted December 19, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 19, 2012 I picked this up at an estate sale. It is a 53 FA stamped shell casing of about .50 caliber, but is shorter and has a larger base diameter than the standard .50 casing. The projectile came out of the standard casing and fits tightly into the shorter case. That is a standard .50 casing next to it. Anybody got any idea? Were they making an assault cartridge version of the .50? http://www.fortsusquehanna.com/sales/militaria/DSC02117.JPG http://www.fortsusquehanna.com/sales/militaria/DSC02118.JPG
