Let's start a thread in tribute of the Screaming Eagles in Vietnam.

To begin with, a jungle jacket that belonged to an infantry officer who was the first to hit Vietnam with the B/1/327 of the First Brigade.

We had a local soldier, Donald L. Valentine, who was with D 2/506th when he was KIA on Friday the 13th of November, 1970. A buddy of his, Ray Reeder, served with Don in Vietnam. He came in to our museum 2 months ago and seeing all we had from SGT Valentine was a photograph (there were no surviving uniforms), he donated his Class As for display. It has the combat patch but not one of the left sleeve because, according to Ray, "I just wanted to get out, and I didn't care which side they put it on."

I have had this 101st jungle jacket for better than 25 years, but the name tape was missing and since replaced. Subdued patches and wings for an infantry 2LT.

Here's mine- belonged to a Lt. in B/1 327 who served in 71-72. Part of a larger group, the only item I don't have is the embroidered 'Rat Pack" beret he brought home. 101st patch is U.S. made with VN made Ranger and Airborne arcs. Name is local as well.

This is a very nice grouping. I am glad that a fellow USMF member got it. Shame you missed the "Rat Pack" beret. This one was a killer. I have saved the pics somewhere.
