Adam R Posted December 17, 2012 Share #8 Posted December 17, 2012 Another example to a USN sailor. It's part of a group of six medals that includes his Good Conduct and Sampson.

Jack's Son Posted December 17, 2012 Share #11 Posted December 17, 2012 Mine is an example of the same medal, but perhaps one of the last that was issued before the release of the smaller current issue.

jmpmstr Posted December 17, 2012 Share #13 Posted December 17, 2012 I really like the deep detail on the strike and the nice patina, the ribbon is excellent which can be a problem on these...just a prime beautiful example Robert. Was Redican a sailor, soldier, Marine, or Coastguardsman?

I think he was a Civilian. He might even have employed working on the Docks.Robert
wartimecollectables.com Posted December 17, 2012 Share #15 Posted December 17, 2012 Very cool.Did these medal's, gold or silver, ever come with a certificate? I think the early one's came with the transmittal letter that Adam showed and the the later one's (when they went to the smaller pattern) came with a formal certificate in the pattern we are used to seeing with the embossed medal at the top.
