Any body know what company made this and where they were located?

Just incredible. I'm wondering if this isn't a postwar (1946-1950) piece. Didn't the term 'goon' originate with POW's in the Stalag's? Or at least, come into popular use there.

I'm reasonably sure that it was used quite a bit in the classic "Stalag 17" movie. Could this be a movie tie in?

The term "Goon Gun" refers to the 4.2 inch mortar that was introduced during the war. This toy "Goon Gun" may be just postwar. I have seen a few listings for it in toy advertisements for Christmas 1945. I found nothing earlier.

Unfortunately, there is no image of the gun in these ads. They merely list the toys available. Under the heading "Guns and Holster Sets" is the "Goon Gun" selling for $2.19. One ad is in the Times Recorder (Zanesville OH) and dated 17 December 1945.
