Garandy Posted December 11, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 11, 2012 Is the top pouch, with the compartments the USMC Jungle Medical kit? It was full of plastic botles, and packages when I got it, packed in the late 1940's, or 1950's, but I didnt know what it was...

tdogchristy90 Posted December 11, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 11, 2012 Garandy, I'd say yes it does look like the jungle kit. I am relatively new at this but during my own research of such kits, the pacific/jungle theater does seem to come mind.
Garandy Posted December 11, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted December 11, 2012 I thought so too. Being marked U.S. I guess was still USMC used...Not alot of USMC gear is marked, but U.S. is standard?
king802 Posted December 11, 2012 Share #6 Posted December 11, 2012 It's an M2 jungle pouch issued to both the Army and Marines in the Pacific. Now all you need to do is track down all the componants to fill it. Rich
Baron3-6 Posted December 11, 2012 Share #7 Posted December 11, 2012 The Marines issued the jungle first aid pouch as standard aid pouch even into early Vietnam, but with updated contents. My friend was in 3rd Mar Div in 65-66 and has his original kit in a 1945 pouch. This might explain the newer contents in yours.
