mdk0911 Posted December 8, 2012 Author Share #10 Posted December 8, 2012 Thanks for the comments - I was very lucky to get this about a year ago - was a safe queen for over 60 years from an advid collector from Arizona!!! Great forum!! All parts are correct for 1943 - with uncut op rod too!!!

m1ashooter Posted December 8, 2012 Share #14 Posted December 8, 2012 Very nice. You should shoot her at least monthly. The old lady needs her exercise. Mine get cranky if I dont.
Mack-the-Finger Posted December 9, 2012 Share #15 Posted December 9, 2012 Beautiful. Everyone should have got one. The perfect rifle for any soldier in its times. The one I cared for in the military was a Springfield Armory of 1959, during that years the manufacturing license went to Beretta; it only had need for the front sight to be fixed & it was just a pleasure to shoot & operate it, my only regret is to never have had the chance to try out the M14, but you gotta love the Garand -to us was the "Modello 51" though everybody called it the Garand- because it's a feather & it works like a clock. Unique style.
