Capt.Confederacy Posted February 24, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 24, 2008 I've got the opportunity to purchase what is supposed to be a WWII USMC felt patch. The insignia matches with what it's supposed to be. However, I know that these have been repro'd so I was wondering if anyone has a photo of the front and back of a genuine WWII USMC patch made in felt. For the record, the one I'm pondering buying does have some light mothing. Thanks
Proud Kraut Posted February 24, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 24, 2008 Here is a WW II V Corps patch. What unit is the patch from? Lars
Capt.Confederacy Posted February 25, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted February 25, 2008 Here is a WW II V Corps patch. What unit is the patch from? Lars Thanks for the picture. It's from the 5th Marine Division. The cheesecloth "lattice" on the back of the one I'm thinking about buying is also disrupted like the back of your patch. Have you heard of anyone faking mothing before?
Proud Kraut Posted February 25, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 25, 2008 I only have two more USMC felt patches but not the 5th Div one. Perhaps these two are usefull for comparison. Lars
