The guy in the hole said he was going to use the picture in his Christmas cards that year. This was in 1983 at Cabanatuan in the Philippines. It is (or was at the time) an active Philippine Army base. Cabanatuan was the destination of the infamous Bataan Death March during the Japanese occupation in WW2. Glad you enjoyed the photo!
