Funny, I remember every so often when we were in the Persian Gulf in 1982-3, we would pull into Bahrain and pull up to a barge and we could take turns getting on the barge and drinking our two cans of beer; the price of a beer went up dramatically as guys were trying to buy other sailors beers.

Salvage Sailor

While playing 'bumper ships' with Commie Krivaks & Intel Trawlers, we would pull alongside of them and blast them with rock and movie scores (the theme song to 'Patton' was the CO's favorite) and moon them, flash the Hawaiian 'good luck sign', etc.

 

We also entertained them, producing the 'Gong Show At Sea' to show them what freedom is...
