jgawne Posted December 2, 2012 #3 Posted December 2, 2012 HA! I love pictures like these. Seems like every photo album has a shot of a guy holding a pistol on his Sgt.
Jack's Son Posted December 2, 2012 #4 Posted December 2, 2012 GUYS, WILL BE GUYS......even in the worst of situations!

vzemke Posted December 2, 2012 #8 Posted December 2, 2012 Since were posting some more recent decades..... Here is my driver in Iraq, somehow with a bird inside the truck. It was apparently a pet of some the little boys in a village we were operating in. The other one is my gunner and I. We found 4-star general rank at the PX, just about everyone got their picture taken with it. Vance
gauthieb3sxz Posted December 2, 2012 #9 Posted December 2, 2012 And a color slide from my collection - LCI Flotilla 3 - likely en route to Iwo
gwb123 Posted December 2, 2012 #12 Posted December 2, 2012 I've posted these before... My Dad at MCAS Cherry Point, NC during the Korean War. Apparently just a bunch of fun loving guys!
strawberry 9 Posted December 2, 2012 #13 Posted December 2, 2012 Great photos, both past and present.
338thRCT Posted December 2, 2012 Author #14 Posted December 2, 2012 Forgot to put these two in the grouping.... Is this a drop tank? My dad ( 1st Sgt) standing on left with Brit sailors hat on.He told me, that he exchanged uniforms with the sailor and toured around Rome wearing it. I brought this up to him years later when I got in trouble for wearing fatigues in-town Columbus,GA,( which in 1973 was a no-no) and he was giving me grief about it .
USCapturephotos Posted June 1, 2014 #18 Posted June 1, 2014 I have lots of shots of goofing around GI's, but this is my favorite! On the back it simply says "what do you think of this one?" Paul
USCapturephotos Posted February 20, 2015 #20 Posted February 20, 2015 Brig. Awesome shot! Is that an original in your collection? Funny. Paul
Brig Posted February 20, 2015 #21 Posted February 20, 2015 Not mine, I found it somewhere on the net. Though it's pretty funny as I have an image of my buddy in Iraq doing about the same thing with an AT4 Here's another image I just stumbled upon...
USCapturephotos Posted February 20, 2015 #22 Posted February 20, 2015 Oh cool Brig and by the way. Thank you for your service! Paul
MasonK Posted February 21, 2015 #23 Posted February 21, 2015 Here are a few from some WWII negatives I just had developed.
patches Posted February 24, 2015 #24 Posted February 24, 2015 Here's two of my Father Goofing around at Camp Breckenridge KY 1945, he's the PFC on the left in each of them. Don't know why, but he started out as a Tank Crewman (Knox) wound up as a MP (Breckenridge) then wound up ultimately as a Radio Operator (The Canal Zone).
VladimirBerkov Posted February 26, 2015 #25 Posted February 26, 2015 It's interesting the attitude the GIs have in many of the goof-off photos towards holding weapons, versus what you see in European photos of a similar theme.
