kiaiokalewa Posted December 1, 2012 Share #1 Posted December 1, 2012 I recently picked a uniform at a local pawn shop of all places that has a ribbon I have no idea what it is. The one in question is the first ribbon in the second row (BWR Green RWB). Can anyone help me out here? Mahalo, John
hirsca Posted December 1, 2012 Share #2 Posted December 1, 2012 Hello John. Looks similar to the Navy Unit Commendation Medal, but the colors are slightly different. Thanks, Al.
Brig Posted December 1, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 1, 2012 Colors are often slightly different in these embroidered ribbons, and the red stripes should be the same width as the blue and yellow, but I'd say definitely a NUC. Couple possibilities here...he could have started in the Navy and eventually switched to the Army. Even if he had earned a Navy GC, when you transfer branches you have two choices. You can either wear both GC's, or you can exchange it for that of the new branch if you choose Or, maybe he was attached to a Naval unit, possibly transported on ship or attached for awhile? Definitely needs research, is the uniform named?
firefighter Posted December 9, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 9, 2012 There were some Army unit's that did earn the Navy Commendation, Presidential Unit Citation, etc..
