When the group was split up the buffalo holster was bought by my mate Bryant who kindly gave it to me to add back into the group

It’s a nice twin mag type not commonly seen

Apocalypse Now

Harvey keitel was cast as the original Willard

He’s wearing his tigers as they worked for 30 days around the beach scene and the village air cav assault

He didn’t work out with Coppola.

Shirt had the insignia removed and put back into circulation and was placed into the stock room.

More on that little story later

American Graffiti

Oh dear!

That vest is something else, and didn't notice the K2 like you say, early cut AND with Southpaw zips! Wowee

Now tiger painted helmet...unique to say the least, could only occur on a flight helmet, never it seems on an M1, until one turns up and proves everyone wrong, right?

as for Keitels shirt, what the f**k? Is that possibly Keitel's then same one used for Willard(Sheen) or did Willard get another one made?

Also interesting to see how crudely it's made on the inside right

Awesome stuff Owen, hats off and more so for showing to us all, credit!

The HK shirt appears to be only 1 used but the photos are very limited

The MS shirt has been given a bit more camera time.

My research has found at least 3 different shirts used based on pattern placement.

The patches on the example I have examined has had the patches removed and applied at least 3 times.

The collars match on both shirts perfectly

On HK shirt the diagonal slash goes one way and the opposite on the MS examples.

Remember the tiger would have been Fitted for a Movie star fit.

The body was slimmed in.

The arms shortened and taken in.

The collar is over sized 70s style and has collar stays sewn in for a perfect camera ready crisp look.

This could have been an on set fitting hence the rough sewing and shows production did not have an overlock machine.

Actors are fickle and vain and actually have a say in how they want to appear on camera.

HK is no different as my friend who dressed him has expressed to me.

Please remember the camera only sees thats in front of it.

NOT whats hidden.

@owen you got that lime green tiger flight suit? That's a special piece. Is it a locally printed fabric or a colour variation on classic Japanese?

Also, still want to see a proper picture of the monster pattern suit - is it a flight suit, or a two piece uniform with zip pockets. cna't tell from the pic.

And finally, Harvey Keitel would have given Apocalypse Now an extra edge. I always thought that Martin Sheen seemed somewhat mis-cast in the role.

Good to see your still in the game.

To answer your question about the tiger suit it feels Japanese made

The quality is top notch as is the print.

Super lime color

I haven’t seen really any of this print ever but somewhere in this thread is a classic cut early shirt in the same cloth.

The flight suit is no doubt tailor made

All the zips feel like they were taken of a k2-b mint flight suit.

It’s stunning in the fleshPosted Image

I have a monster flight suit and the 2 piece suit

Both same print except different colors one vertical

One horizontal

It’s a very hard print to source

If you look on the indo China sold section yiu will see a pair of pants in the flight suit print., and recently vintage productions found a pair

I have yet to see a shirt in this bright print, but one will turn up some day.

The dull print was made famous on the cover of the Vietnam magazine and to date only a couple of pics have turned up.

A lot of cowboy hats have been misidentified as monster but they are not

Here’s a refresher couple of pics as it’s a cousin of tiger they are worth seeing Posted Image

Very nice, Owen. Thanks for sharing.

Yes, still in the game. Been setting up a new business so 'tiger' budgets are some what depleted. But I did score another tiger shirt like your Jenkins suit - the patrol cap fabric.
