carbinekid Posted November 27, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 27, 2012 I recently acquired these holsters from an antique store. The owner of the store said they got them together from an estate sale. The shoulder holster was obviously originally natural leather but was dyed at some point. The dye job does not so much look black as it looks cordovan brown. The hip holster has some markings under the flap but, I can't make them out. I've seen online that CRUMP 1942 holsters are "rare" because they were only made one year. Any truth to that? Also can anyone explain the black paint pistol belt? Was that done in the Navy or Marines?
12thengr Posted November 27, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 27, 2012 Looks like Maynard Foster A/C. WWII M-7 Russet Shoulder Holster with a black dye job.
THAT GUY Posted December 22, 2012 Share #3 Posted December 22, 2012 I just got a Crump 1942 Holster in a little nice shape. I don't know much about holsters, but from the reception many people seem to have the same idea that it is a rare maker.
artu44 Posted December 24, 2012 Share #4 Posted December 24, 2012 Yes, the USMC M7 is quite scarce to find and CRUMP is one of the rarest WWII M1916s. Blackening a belt seess more a kid playing job.
