rldarmstr Posted November 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted November 20, 2012 I just picked this up. MK1 body, fill hole threaded but not plugged, M10A3 stamped and inked over fuze. I really like those MK 1 bodies! I was a little surprised by the blue and the mid war fuze but a more experienced collector convinced me that it was ligit in this configuration. hink441 Posted November 21, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 21, 2012 Very nice grenade. I think it looks fine, and I also like the MK1 body!!!
quack Posted November 21, 2012 Share #3 Posted November 21, 2012 When I went on active duty in the 1970s, training grenades were painted blue like this. I would bet it was a training grenade.
CUBUSMC Posted November 21, 2012 Share #4 Posted November 21, 2012 During WWII they used all sorts of older grenade bodies as training grenades. All they did was remove the plugs in the bottom and replace them with corks for training and paint them blue. - Jeff
Morlok Posted November 21, 2012 Share #5 Posted November 21, 2012 This is a really great find...MK1s are always a treat to find... You can never have too many grenades!! They always look good in any display. It's amazing how ANY military display looks great with a few random grenades laying around!!
