siege1863 Posted February 19, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 19, 2008 This one is a bit different from the others posted. It is pressed steel rather than tin; is perfectly circular in shape; has a flat brim; and is a different shade of green. A fiber pad was glued inside the crown but is now missing. The chin strap, also missing, was a length of elastic. I have seen this same helmet sold as part of a boy's uniform set.
Jason G Posted February 19, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 19, 2008 Is this one heavier because of being pressed steel? I'd guess 'yes' but just curious. (As compared to your tin versions).
siege1863 Posted February 20, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted February 20, 2008 Jason--- I would say the weight/gauge is between that of the "tin" helmets and the much heavier Marx helmets.
Jason G Posted February 22, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 22, 2008 Thanks! I was just curious. I"m guessing that means more than one company making these.
