I was looking at post n.40 and I see that Victory looks look an oddball. Did someone replace its barrel? The unusual target-like front sight and the missing lug for the ejecting rod a la Colt make me think so. Was it born with 4" barrel?

My new Standard Products M1 Carbine. I got it from a friends father who was a member of the local Militia and fought with the GI´s in 1944/1945.

It is a low serial number, early production and all the parts seem to be original, except for the type 2 sight which must have been fitted by an US Army armourer before the old geezer got it.

I note the 45 pistol # 857694 has a colt slide. However it is Ithaca made in 1943. It is not unusual to find the wrong slide on the wrong pistol.

The 45 #8649097 is a Remington 1943. For your info if not already known.

I knew it when I got them, mixmasters are quite common over here as well. Thank you anyhow!

I got the paperwork for another addition yesterday, I hope to able to pick it up next week.

The .45 in post #27 (serno 864097) is an Ithaca serial number, not a Remington Rand number. It is also a beautifully correct pistol.

Outstanding collection thank you for sharing.

Do you have any Reising's I know there not very popular, but a part of WW2 history none the less.

No, Reisings are very, very hard to come by on my side of the big pond. I was offered one a year ago but it was in a real bad shape and had the bolt missing and on top of that the price was really hefty, so I decided to let it go!

But it sure is on my wish list!

Nice collection! My favs were the BAR, the thomspons, & the striped walnut M1 Carbine. Up for any trades? I have a beautiful wife... ;)

I guess it would be no problem to get your wife across the big pond.....but getting my guns into the US of A might be a problem...the more I do not think my wife would tolerate any concurrence
