Cliff, when it comes time for President Obama to "re-distribute" your wonderful wing collection, I want to be there to plead my case for the needy! Thank you for sharing images of your terrific Senior & Command Astronaut wings.

Russ, I am sorry to tell you this but I have it on good authority that yours is at the top of Obama's list.

HI GANG, Just been sitting here looking at all the interesting stuff being posted about Astronauts and their wings. I am also a long time wing collector, but have limited my Post WW2 Collection to one of each wing authroized/worn. Usually this means an "issue" piece made of sterling. In regards to Astronaut Wings, I have always avoided "two-piece" wings, because in earlier days I think they were "constructed" for the collectors market. The original MilSpec for Astronaut Wings (MIL-B-10955/23) has always directed that the wing be of one-piece, die-struck construction. So I believe an "issue" wing will always be one-piece. But, like during WW2, Astronaut wings have also been made for private purposes. I am not rendereing judgement on two-piece wings as "real" or not. The following series of pictures depict the 6 wings in my collection. All six are the "fine-feathered" design. Five are marked "STERLING" on the reverse in raised letters. The 2 inch Basic wing is stamped "STERLING / KREW". Enjoy.

Are there any other Astronaut wings out there? Please feel free to share them here.

Russ,

Here are two that are in the collection of the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum.

Here is an USN Pilot Astronaut pair of wings from Vanguard, current production (I know it's a little off-topic as it's not from USAF... please forgive me!):
