manayunkman Posted October 14, 2012 Author Share #23 Posted October 14, 2012 There is a great story to this group. I drove past a group of women getting out of a car. I pulled over and started a conversation. One of them gave me her phone number. I went over to the house and met with her husband, a 194th vet. He was very eager to show me his stuff so up to the attic he climbed. The box it was in was handed down to me and it was clear that there was a leak in the roof. Some of the things were too far gone. And some things he would not sell. But with the price of fixing the roof in mind I was able to get a small portion. Note that the German eagle is an Air Force General's for the visor hat. He was captured by their unit.
manayunkman Posted October 14, 2012 Author Share #24 Posted October 14, 2012 Interesting photo. Why is everybody's stuff on the street ?? Our man is on the left. I have several undeveloped pictures that show different shots of all this stuff. Could they have put everyone out on the street to use their houses ? He trained as a paratrooper but ended up a glider rider. The PH has it's box.
