Same patch with a red shell for Gun Pointer. Casemate Electrician a voltimeter. arilway Sergeant, red train stracks on black within a red ring. Transportation Sergeant, a red wing on black within a red ring. First Class Gunner a red shell on a khaki backing with three tan chevrons. This Chief Mechanic also rated as a Gunner and it is interesting the original rectangular blue field ground was cut down to contour. It great when you find chevrons original to their uniforms. kiaiokalewa Posted February 17, 2008 Share #5 Posted February 17, 2008 I got lucky along with VonDeckbar, Netzly, & January in finding a treasure trove on ebay about 7 or 8 years ago at an average of $5 a piece since the vender did not know that he had 1902 pattern chevrons. There were about 3 dozen chevrons all together and they were all exceptionally rare pieces. Here are two from that find. Fireman and Engineer Coast Artillery Corps, Army Service School Detachment. Chief Planter same, with a red bar below the mind. Gun Commander, red crossed cannot with inner yellow ring and same design for Gun Pointer with red bar below.
