Display mannequin heads

So I want to display a couple of pieces of headgear.

Should I go with the inexpensive styrofoam heads?

What are your experiences and recommendations?

I have a beret and boonie I'd like to display.

Thanks for any help.

Great idea, though best to cover them with cloth to protect the headgear from teh the styrofoam.

Check my thread titeld "My Mini Musuem", there are several of these heads covered with cloth in the photos. I fastened the cloth at eh neck with plastic zip ties.

Cheers

While styrofoam display heads are cheap, I would really caution against wanting to put headgear with leather or leatherette sweatbands, these have a tendency to react with the foam in a negative way in my experience; as in it sticks to the foam. :o

Do what Wes suggests if you are going to use foam, put some heavy cloth to give a buffer between the foam and the headgear.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Are these best found online or are there any big stores that might carry these?

Thanks again.

If you have any big-box hobby/craft stores you should be able to find the heads from around $10, or you can order them online but the shipping may cost you depending on how many you order (I think you can order a "case" of 8 ).
