38Driver Posted October 6, 2012 Share #1 Posted October 6, 2012 I have a couple of A-14 Oxygen masks that are in decent shape outside of the rubber straps that connect to the mask and hold the cloth straps with the snaps or hook. All I can find is black rubber stripping. Any suggestions on where one might find dark green? I repaired one with the black and it looks OK but obviously it's not the right color. The straps that came with were broken, hard and brittle so there was no saving them. Any ideas appreciated.
Mitter2k1 Posted November 18, 2012 Share #2 Posted November 18, 2012 I know it may be a long shot, but have you considered dying the black ones with Rit Dye. If the straps were originally made from natural rubber, they may take to the dye better. I know this isn't the same, but I've seen polymer AR15 magazines dyed with Rit. So it may work. Maybe something you can experiment with and good luck
