uplandmod Posted September 27, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 27, 2012 http://www.navytimes.com/news/2009/04/ap_b...alvaged_042409/ Captain Ellis is my co-workers Father. He's on the deck in the famous Viet Nam photo of the USS Midway with the South Vietnam Officer who landed his small airplane on the deck to save his family at the end of the war. Today he helps raise wrecked aircraft from the bottom lakes. Great to see another of these noble aircraft being rescued! Leonardo

Third Herd Posted September 27, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 27, 2012 When I went to the National Naval Aviation Museum in 2000, two recovered aircraft were displayed in a darkened room as they were found. Looked like you were on the lake bottom with them.
