History Man Posted September 22, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 22, 2012 I picked this up at a flea market 2 weeks ago and decided to a little research on it today. Frist I was able to find this information: Charles W. McFadden Army Serial Number: 31216225 County of Residence: Androscoggin Date of Enlistment: 4 Nov. 1942 Place of Enlistment: Portland, Maine Year of Birth: 1920 Nativity: Maine Marital Status: Single, with dependents Race and Citizenship: White, citizen Education: 4 years of high school Civilian Occupation: Salesmen and sales agents, except to consumers Source of Army Personnel: Civil Life Component of the Army: Selectees (Enlisted Men) Grade: Private Branch: Branch Immaterial - Warrant Officers, USA Term of Enlistment: Enlistment for the duration of the War or other emergency, plus six months, subject to the discretion of the President or otherwise according to law. Card Number: # Box Number: 0410 Film Reel Number: 3.132 After that I plugged his name and serial number into google and an OSS Roster came up. Low and behold his name was listed: McFadden, Charles W., SGT - [serial Number] 31216225 Let me know what you think. Philip

History Man Posted September 22, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted September 22, 2012 Thank you, I was surprised to say the least when I found the OSS Roster. Is it likely this man was a clerk, etc? Philip
