BEAST Posted February 9, 2008 Share #1 Posted February 9, 2008 Apart from "Ballad of the Green Berets" this is the only pro-soldier piece of sheet music from the Vietnam era that I have seen. It has a copyright date of 1967 was self-published in Indiana.
Jason G Posted February 9, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2008 There is another, I have the record but no sheet music. It's called "Snipers Hill" by Buddy Starcher. There is one on ebay right now, exactly like I have: 160200110169 It's a good song, too.
BEAST Posted February 9, 2008 Author Share #3 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks Jason. Looks like an interesting one, I may just have to pick it up. I also picked up a copy of "IN-COUNTRY" which are modern recordings of songs dealing with Vietnam. However, I think most if not all are songs written after the war. Does anyone else have any Vietnam Era pro-troop songs? I have heard enough of Country Joe and would like to hear songs supporting the troops. Jason G Posted February 9, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 9, 2008 It's a good song, and well worth that price LOL. I'll have to dig around the house and see what I can find. I know I have an Anita Bryant (yes, Anita Bryant) album of patriotic songs that was put out during that time period. Of course, Barry Sadler's entire album should be added, not just "The Ballad".
