24th_infantry Posted September 12, 2012 Share #1 Posted September 12, 2012 I purchased a Civil Defense Auxiliary Police flag the other day. Its double sided with a purple circle and CD in the center of it. On the bottom is embroidered Wickliffe, Ohio. Its made of a rayon I believe. Have anyone ever seen flags like this before. I've been trying to research it but can't find any info anywhere. I'm beginning to imagine the CD flags were not produced for every town. I'm thinking about donating it to the Wickliffe Historical Society. I'll try to get some pictures posted later today.

Mr.Jerry Posted September 16, 2012 Share #3 Posted September 16, 2012 Hi, Many of these kinds of things were only produced locally and can vary in quality and complexity. Some cities and town had larger CD units, some were more ad hoc. I know one town that still has signs directing you to the underground CD command shelter. Neat flag though!
