ADMIN Posted February 9, 2008 Share #2 Posted February 9, 2008 These could be a number of things (particularly the ones in the cluster on the left - which I have no idea about) but the one on the right looks like an old ROTC patch that they would wear on the lower right sleeve (often accompanied by a star or a patch saying "ROTC"). I have seen identical ones in gold and blue. So, perhaps it is ROTC?

Proud Kraut Posted February 9, 2008 Share #4 Posted February 9, 2008 These are U.S. Labor Service/Civilian Support rank insignia, e.g. for guards etc. 1 stripe: "Watchman", 3 stripes: "Inspector". Lars
Allan H. Posted February 9, 2008 Share #5 Posted February 9, 2008 As the three stripes together appear to be German bevo weave, I would agree with the German Labor Service ID for those. The single, is made exactly the same was as a WWII overseas bar except for the color. I would attribute the single to a US ROTC unit. During WWII, different school were affiliated with certain branches of service. Norwich University for example was a Cavalry school. The red stripe would have been worn by a cadet that was going to school at a college or univeristy affiliated with the field artillery, coast artillery or Engineer Corps.
