gwb123 Posted September 4, 2012 #2 Posted September 4, 2012 Now that is something you do not see every day! Moving this over to the Military Ships and Vessels Forum.
vostoktrading Posted September 14, 2012 #4 Posted September 14, 2012 I wonder what the UPS charge would be to Hawaii?!! Seriously though, like Gil said, not something you see every day. Jon
Jack's Son Posted September 14, 2012 #5 Posted September 14, 2012 What would anyone do with that thing? Even if one were to restore it, where does one put it?? (I know.....in the sub that has been restored.)
USMC-RECON0321 Posted September 14, 2012 #6 Posted September 14, 2012 What would anyone do with that thing?Even if one were to restore it, where does one put it?? Leatherwringer Posted September 14, 2012 #7 Posted September 14, 2012 I wonder what the UPS charge would be to Hawaii?!! usps flat rate...if it fits, it ships :w00t:
MWalsh Posted September 15, 2012 #8 Posted September 15, 2012 That price is a STEAL! Heck, a good AR-15 is $900! A Purple Heart / Air Medal KIA pair is what now, $700 or more? Navy KIA Purple Hearts are starting at the $800 range? Nice ejection seats over a grand, etc etc etc. And all those turn up with some regularity. But a torpedo? How unique is THAT! I think this is the 2nd one that has turned up on Craigslist on the east coast. You east coasters have all the cool stuff... I think if I owned the thing I'd get a trailer, chain and lock that puppy down, and just drive around in my truck, with my trailer and torpedo, just 'cause I could. I might do that for a month or two, once or twice a year, just to see what folks would say MW
skio Posted September 16, 2012 #9 Posted September 16, 2012 I'd do the same thing as MW but would add a sign that says "I buy military stuff, big or small".
Plant#4 Posted September 17, 2012 #10 Posted September 17, 2012 If that thing is sort of complete, that's a steal. Torpedo props are expensive, and I have seen a few gyros latley. It would take a bit to move it, they are a bit heavy. An awsome find though.
