Here is a study of a group of US soldiers in Vietnam (1967). It's not easy getting the scans to match the original. That's what I get for buying a cheap scanner.

Your quality certainly matches your quantity! :)

Have you given any thought to showing your collection at a local gallery?

Thanks Terry,

 

I had not given thought to local galleries but my library offers local artists a room to show case their work for a night. I think I will start planning for that (the price is right :) )

Here I'm trying to stay within my skill level. Monochrome, minimalistic and a bit impressionistic. I can always go back and add more details.

I picked up a used book of Winslow Homer's early works (his Civil War Soldier sketches are a great source of inspiration). Needless to say I am trying to mimic his simple yet bold style. Here is a study of a US soldier landing on a beach.
