While visiting a collector friend who has a fantastic collection of WWI/WWII/Korean/Vietnam Purple Hearts, we visited the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor. This is a Federal facility located about 1.5 hours out of NY City. Not easily found without directions, it is located on George Washington's last contonement site of the Revolutionary War. The no-fee facility is beautiful, and visitor friendly. There are not many Purple Hearts on display, but I believe this will change. There are, however, records of recipients. Every effort is being made to expand this. In spite of the rumor that the Purple Heart Society is making a move to make the Purple Heart the same restrictive status of the Medal of Honor, I have opted to submit all Purple Heart data that I currently have on hand. There are many great items to see, the best being an ORIGINAL Badge For Military Merit (precursor of the Purple Heart Medal instituted in 1932) and document of award signed by George Washington!

I took photos, but do not know how to post them. Very sorry! Jack Angolia
