hawkdriver Posted August 20, 2012 Share #1 Posted August 20, 2012 I just had a buddy contact me and send me these pics. We have figured that it is Vietnam era and is a endotrach kit. But beyond that, know nothing else. It has a FSN and everything is meant to be autoclaved except the inflation bulb. Anyone know where this would be used, is this a hospital item or would this have been used in a Bn Aid Station? Anyone able to shed light on it? gearsource Posted August 21, 2012 Share #2 Posted August 21, 2012 Is this the same concept as modern day Intubation?
hawkdriver Posted August 21, 2012 Author Share #3 Posted August 21, 2012 I'm looking specifically at what level of care this would have been used. Is it a part of a larger set, kit, outfit? If so, which one? Thanks for the help.

rr01 Posted August 21, 2012 Share #5 Posted August 21, 2012 Looks painful They could be if you had me holding one of them over you but in the field an emergency crichocothyroidotomy or trachiotomy would be done. This looks like something at the next level where "DustOff" would land. I'm pretty sure an autoclave machine would be necessary after use which would also, usually be at one of these hospitals but they could just as easily be boiled. Really nice looking piece of equipment.
