River Rat 1 Posted August 4, 2012 #1 Posted August 4, 2012 Just got this WW2 era US Navy Barometer made by Tylor cir.1943 thought it would go with some of my Naval clocks. And it works great had to set it to the barometer reading from the net of barometer reading of my area there is a opening on the back and use a screw driver to set the hands and she been working great. There are two differnt hands one hand tells you the barometer reading the other you turn the knob to mark it then you can see the differnce when the hand moves. It's next to my largest clock a 8 inch diameter chelsea all my other clocks are the smaller 6 inch diameter size.
River Rat 1 Posted August 7, 2012 Author #2 Posted August 7, 2012 I guess barometers were importent in WW2 in the pacific becouse if you made a mistake with the weather you could make one like Bull Halsey did. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Typhoon_Cobra
