robinb Posted July 29, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 29, 2012 I've been trying to ID this radio for a few years with no success. Does anyone here know anything about it?

Bagman Posted July 30, 2012 Share #5 Posted July 30, 2012 Hi- I did a search online for "SCR-695 UHF Radio" and found a listing that identifies that particular equipment under the heading of "AIRBORNE TRANSPONDERS". Since your equipment comes with it own purpose-made carrying bag, I would hypothesize that the unit may have been used from the ground to interrogate approaching aircraft to establish friend or foe....maybe with an antiaircraft or FAC unit. That is just a wild-a$$ guess, but perhaps it's a place to start..!! Here's the link to the list I found: http://www.signal.army.mil/ocos/museum/AMC/radio2.asp You can find SCR-695 about 60% down the page. Hope this is at least of some minimal help. Respectfully, Terry ("Bagman")
