This kit was carried by my father in the PTO. He was a medic but this kit is private purchase.

This is a private purchase Cutter Kit that was in use for many years. These date from the Vietnam era until just a few years ago. They have pretty much disappeared from the market now.

I do not think the Cutter Kits were ever an issue item but I used to see lots of them turn up in surplus. They had the signs of wear that indicate they were carried for a long time but the contents were usually intact. They may have been an Unit Level purchased item but probably most were private purchase.

Here is another version of a US snake bite kit. Mine Safety Appliance Co. with the same stock number as the kit in post #4
