Bluehawk Posted July 24, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 24, 2012 These interest me, thank you for showing them. Do you know, was it a tradition (as it is here) to exchange holiday cards in Vietnam before we arrived there?
khaki1941 Posted July 24, 2012 Author Share #4 Posted July 24, 2012 Being that these cards are in English, I would say that they were given to U.S. General Officers and Advisors. Asian holidays being different from Western Holidays, I'd guess it was just a "nice" gesture. Maybe some other members can shed more light on the subject. khaki1941 Posted August 2, 2012 Author Share #5 Posted August 2, 2012 After researching the names of the Generals, turns out that these are both Korean. Lt. Gen. Song Yo Chan was Prime Minister of Korea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Song_Yo_Chan

Song Yo Chan was Prime Minister of Korea. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Song_Yo_Chan I believe you are correct. Those are both Korean unit insignia for 1st and 2nd Army, but I don't believe these units served in Vietnam. These were probably sent to US or other English speaking counterparts in Korea. These were something I'd never seen before an the price was right so I took a chance on them being RVN. Since I don't collect ROK items these with go on the estand. :ermm: Thanks, Howard
