Spathologist Posted August 18, 2012 Share #76 Posted August 18, 2012 That looks like a lot of fun with some serious toys!
Sabrejet Posted August 18, 2012 Author Share #77 Posted August 18, 2012 Just a couple of points re Lee's observations. The battle takes place in quite a large arena. The camera lens has foreshortened the distances somewhat so things look closer together than they really were. It's carefully choreographed and is governed by strict Health & Safety guidelines....guys running around 30 ton tanks in clouds of cordite smoke is potentially very dangerous! Also...this is entertainment! All around the arena are thousands of people who've paid to see the spectacle, so the re-enactors are literally "playing to the gallery". Also, the event is filmed, so at strategic places around the arena, in the midst of of it all are cameramen covering all of the angles, which the re-enactors are aware of as they perform their moves. Trust me...it's the best "live" battle-scene you'll see anywhere!
