Baron3-6 Posted July 18, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 18, 2012 Hi! My wife is wanting to get a WAC uniform for wear at displays, but we are unsure how the WWII sizes relate to modern sizes? My wife is in the army, and knows her modern Class A sizes, are these close?, or have even those changed in the past 70 years? Any kind of a chart or guess work formula would be very helpful, thanks!!
jpgrl Posted July 19, 2012 Share #2 Posted July 19, 2012 http://www.vintageswank.com/sizing.html Here's something to start with. But you know how girls are all different And custom tailoring was much more common than today, and sizes also vary by manufacturer. I have several different period 18 uniform parts that all are different fits, and I don't wear a modern size 10 (per this chart). Good luck. Allan H. Posted July 20, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 20, 2012 If you wife is wanting to wear a WAC uniform, I would recommend that you consider buying a reproduction from Juan at WW2 Impressions- http://www.wwiiimpressions.com/womens.html They are sized to modern measurements and if they don't fit, you can return them and get EXACTLY what your wife wants for her impression. There is also a big plus in that she won't have to worry about dry rot or other problems with wearing vintage clothing. Good luck! Allan
