Sizing WWII to Modern

Hi! My wife is wanting to get a WAC uniform for wear at displays, but we are unsure how the WWII sizes relate to modern sizes?

My wife is in the army, and knows her modern Class A sizes, are these close?, or have even those changed in the past 70 years?

Any kind of a chart or guess work formula would be very helpful, thanks!!

Here's something to start with. But you know how girls are all different  And custom tailoring was much more common than today, and sizes also vary by manufacturer. I have several different period 18 uniform parts that all are different fits, and I don't wear a modern size 10 (per this chart). Good luck.

If you wife is wanting to wear a WAC uniform, I would recommend that you consider buying a reproduction from Juan at WW2 Impressions- http://www.wwiiimpressions.com/womens.html

They are sized to modern measurements and if they don't fit, you can return them and get EXACTLY what your wife wants for her impression. There is also a big plus in that she won't have to worry about dry rot or other problems with wearing vintage clothing.

Good luck!
