uplandmod Posted July 12, 2012 Share #1 Posted July 12, 2012 My friend pick this up today and we are not sure what it is... I really don't know pre WWI items but I was thinking something along those lines that were later surplus and a brazen entrepreneur embossed those designs on it. But the snap doesn't look military... What do you think? Leonardo

Charlie Flick Posted July 12, 2012 Share #3 Posted July 12, 2012 It is a toy holster for a child's toy gun. I think they were made by Hubley in the 1950-60s. Not USGI. Regards, Charlie Flick

Jack's Son Posted July 13, 2012 Share #5 Posted July 13, 2012 That's really something. I would not have guessed it was for a child, must have been an up-scale neighborhood!
Third Herd Posted July 13, 2012 Share #6 Posted July 13, 2012 I had a Hubley .45, it was a nice cap gun but my mom cleaned out almost all my cap guns, I carried mine in a G.I. holster on a pistol belt. At least she didn't get rid of my Navy Mark I Training Rifle.
craig_pickrall Posted July 13, 2012 Share #7 Posted July 13, 2012 I had that set when I was a kid in the early 50's. That particular set was a fairly nice piece of leather and a better than average pistol for the toy market at that time. I think they made that same set with USMC markings as well.
