"History" of the MIL-K Steel Pocket Knives?

Just to follow up that 2-blade knife with the Camillus 1949 marked blade.  The auction ended with the knife going for a little over $200.  IMHO, I could see how someone with an otherwise good example of that knife needing the main blade replaced could be drawn to spending that kind of money or even more.  Hard to tell what rare pieces are going to go for now or even the near future.

I've mentioned this on other threads about these knives, but they were standard issue to Army aircrews and carried in the SRU-21P survival vest for decades in pouch 12, usually with a lanyard tied around the bail for security. The ALSE (Aviation Life Support Equipment) shop had a box of these knives that always got pilfered by warrant officers.
