Medical Supplies - Items used to fill the kits

Salvage Sailor

Here's what we've got so far.....

A small gauze bandage (but non elastic), some bandaids, lube (can never have enough lube, especially for burns), alcohol prep pad, tefla pads, and sodium cloride/sodium bicarbonate packs - not as good as alka seltzer, but still good for hangovers and upset stomachs. This was also good if someone had cramps from heat exhaustion, quite common in the tropics. The civilian cepacol is for runny noses and sore throats, also quite common in tropical conditions (along with diarhea).

Salvage Sailor

Entire kit & contents untouched for 30+ years

Now it's going right back into the case and will be clipped either to my Davis belt or inside my butt pack. One day I'll get around to showing the whole setup

Would anyone happen to have a listing of what items were in the M-3 or Unit 1 bags, Viet Nam, Gulf War I or II, when originally issued to the medics? Also, what is in the current "Combat Life Saver" Bags?
