I've been on the bottom side of your drops(well not you but crews like you) and we always welcomed a cool shower. Robert

There's a whole lot of kick-a$$ in fire fighting drops like that. Anybody still use WWII planes for that kind of stuff anymore?

up here in the Inland Northwest, there was a PBY that flew out of Deer Park, WA for years. It was a common sight during the typical summer fire seasons here. I believe it was grounded a year or so ago. It was always a welcome sight over a hotspot.

I think there are some A-26s flying around somewhere, perhaps Canada? At least I think they are still flying.

I think the era of WW2 surplus planes fighting fires is pretty much over.

Hawk,

Your fire near Ft Collins is about 45% contained.

Bad news is we now have a major fire in the Springs area and another burning near Boulder. The Springs fire is pretty bad.

A week of 100 degree plus weather (105 two days running) and winds today isn't helping.
