9641 Posted June 13, 2012 Share #11 Posted June 13, 2012 6-12-2012 My step Dad was on that cruise in 1963 The ship was USS TICONDEROGA CVA 14 The first Patch was a Demon Squadron in 1963. VF-54 the Puking Dogs they transition to the F-4 the Squadron numbers changed to VF-143. The second Patch is Carrier Air Wing 5 he is the CAG or the Boss of all the Squadron on the Carrier.
